I have had a really good quote for a flydrive with Jetsave, but i'm not sure wether i would still get the same benefits of booking direct with Virgin. Will i still be able to use online check in, DTD checkin, reserve seats etc?
Also would the flights be eligible for FC points?

Jetsave have a seat allocation from Virgin. Sometimes it is nearer the date of travel (usually after you've paid your full balance) before you can allocate your seats, but it can be done and then you can check in on line.
For DTD, you can still use it, but will have to pay $5 per person unless you are a Au card holder or flying UC.
FF miles will be awarded, but the amount depends on which class Jetsave use if flying in economy. If you're flying PE or UC you get the full miles.
Hope that helps

Jetsave are quite a good company and seem to regularly beat VH on price[:0].
My first ever trip to the states got me miles with Jetsave, didn't know about pre booking seats back then, was still wet behind the ears and not yet a VA geek.

I too have used Jetsave in the past and have had a good deal on price and all the usual benefits of a regular direct Virgin booking with no problems at all.
I seem to remember the travel agent having to call Jetsave and ask them to release the booking to Virgin to enable the seat reservations to be made available straight away otherwise you have to wait unti nearer the time when they normally send in the booking details and then take pot luck on what's left.
I assume the system still works the same way now, it was a few years ago when I last used them.
