OK we are thinking of having a second break this year.
We flew UC (both ways) to MCO in April and loved it.[y]

In trying to keep the fares down for our second break we looked at PE to MCO and UC on the way back.
For November this came back at £2911 for both of us[n]. As this is more than our April break, out of interest, I then looked at UC both ways.
This came back at £2631 for both of us. A saving of nearly £300[:?].
Is this a glitch in the VS website or is it really dearer to mix travel classes?.

I think I'll ring VS in the morning to check prices.

personally I would have just bagged the two UCS and ask no questions[}:)]

If the PE is a flexible price and the UCS are Z's I can see it working out that way though

It could be that the Upper Class fares are Z class (£1300 each approx) but the chepaest PE fares are sold out so you would be paying the fully flexible PE fare ( which could be £1600 and thus more expensive than the restricted Z upper class fare)

Best way is to check the prices out on Expedia as that will tell you what class the seats are booked in - as EGG says it could be that the UCS are Z's and the PE are W's and this is why the Z's out and back are cheaper?

And also, if it was an unrestricted PE fare it would have had to have been a J or D UC fare too to go with it.

So you cannot buy a UC Z with a PE W - hmm -why is that?

You can absolutely mix and match flexible and non-flexible tickets, BUT you'd need to use a 3rd party or call VS direct. The website itself is the limitation here and doesn't allow that amount of flexibility in booking.

One thing to bear in mind, though - is that the restrictions on the lower class ticket still apply in terms of refunds/changes.

Just an update...
I rang VS this morning and as some of you have already said the PE outbound was a flexible fare hence the higher price.
Talking to VS you can mix different classes (flexible/non flexible).

I spoke to the premier team and they were very helpful.[y]
I'll use them, in future, instead of tackling the inflexibilites of the website booking system.

Glad to hear it. But just out of interest, as a red member, how did you managed to get to speak to them?
