Can anyone tell me about Virgins seats on the 747 from BOS to LHR or where I can get better info ? We have reserved seats 44A and 44B in economy class. Virgin reservations swears that there is no seat at 44C and that the space is empty? I have called three times and all of the res agents say the same thing. But all the seat charts at their web page and at seatguru.com etc show a seat there! And no one says anything about this being a good choice of seats on any of the web sites I have found including this one.

Thanks in advance for anyones help![?]

I have not travelled on this route but have used this aircraft type and can see no reason as to why the seat shoudl not be there - unless there is a particular maintenance problem.

Are customer services saying the seat is "not there" or that it is not avaialable for booking as there is an obvious difference.

Other than that let us all know when you have flown the route - when do you come here?

Take a look at the V-Flyer seat maps here. The aircraft will either be a 747-400 (LHR) or a 747-400 (Suite), however there will be no difference in the economy seating lay out. There is a seat 44C. VS reservations might just mean that 44C is currently un-occupied [?]

Which flight are you booked on? The VS11/12 or the VS53/54?

The 11/12 are currently producing a 747-400 (though I have noticed A340s on this circuit from time to time), and the 53/54 are slated for an A340-300.

If it's an Airbus, it will be A and B seats, then the aisle. The A340 is seated 2-4-2 in coach, as opposed to the 747's 3-4-3.

Cheers,
Mike

Oppps sorry I forgot about the new VS53/54 service [:I]. This could explain it although the seats numbers would then be 44A and 44C though if on an A343 aircraft.

Thanks for the replies. Virgin says that there is no seat at that position. The flight is VS012 overnight. I will call back and check on the aircraft type, maybe they switched it to the airbus? I just have that feeling left as is we will show up at check in and they will give me that, who the heck told you there was no seat at 44C !!:)

Thanks again for the replies. After a fourth call to reservations I final talked to someone who knew what was going on. The seat number 44c is there, and is reserved for check in at the desk on the day of the flight. The res agent then rebooked the seats to 62a & 62c with no middle seat. Thanks Again!
