Can you please tell me what time the SFO clubhouse opens at?
I am arriving real early to SFO from Canada, and am guessing Virgin don't even open the check in for the LHR flight until midday because the flight doesn't leave until 4pm.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Jon

Four hours prior is a rule of thumb. The flight is at 16:30 so 12:30 seams to work.
My suggestion if you arrive very early is to set your luggage with the left luggage folks and go in to SF on BART then return and look at the SFO airport museum. The museum is right to the left of the hallway to the VS CH's elevator.

Thanks guys,
I arrive at 8:30 in the morning so going to have a lot of time! I will jump on the BART and see a bit of the city!
Cheers

I am reminded of your recommendation to me of the mexican restaurant in ABQ McM, which was a godd recommendation BTW. Is there any US airport restaurant you havn't eaten in?

It opens the same time as check-in which is 12:30 as was pointed out above. Enjoy it, it's great!

To extend on Honey Lamb reply, you cannot enter the lounge until you have a boarding pass. You do not have a boarding pass unless you check in. So it is pointless for the lounge to open before check-in.
So unless your bags are checked through (i.e. inter-lined) from your previous flight, you will have to take you bags with you into the city or leave them at left luggage.

Oh yea BTW. There is a left luggage at SFO and it is located in the international terminal that VS uses. Sorta uncommon to have a left luggage in a US airport.

SFO Clubhouse is lovely, you'll find a variety of seating areas, a fully stocked bar and delicious food service, all of which is free of charge, Internet terminals, newspapers, snacks on the bar - and a great view of arriving aircraft.
You'll find a great selection of photos of the SFO Clubhouse
here in our gallery - excuse the many pictures of drunkard V-Flyers though [:I]
Thanks,
Sarah

The SFO CH also seems to be the one that many V-Flyers first experience too. It is a lovely one - i really enjoyed my visit.

Just to add my 2p - SFO is my favourite CH, even though it doesn't have any V:Touch or Cowshed treatments. It's a haven of tranquility (unless, of course, 18 V-Flyers are convened for pre-flight blue drinks

) and the staff, service, food & drinks are all top notch

Cheers

It does not have a lot of the facilities you get in LHR but:
a) the service is more friendly and far more efficient than LHR
b) selection and quality of food is probably the best of all the VS Clubhouses; quality of food is nice than LHR but not as wide a selection
c) they only cater for one VS flight a day but you would not know that from the spacious size and facilities offered. Think of it as the most exclusive bar/restaurant in all of San Francisco!
d) fantastic view from the bar stool (and it is a very long bar)or the dining tables.
There are showers and a couple of Mac (yeah!) terminals
Guaranteed to beat and US airline lounge hands down.

I made full use of ALL the facilities last year and can recommend it as a haven of tranquility. [|)]
Unless of course the family who were there then are back again. Childern running around screaming [V] until the head honcho advised that they would be asked to leave unless they were quiet

Well, having just got back from SFO I must admit, what a wonderful clubhouse it is!
I lounged on the sofa as if it were my own, drank way too much London Pride, and ate till I felt sick. I love it!
