News in from the Arrivals lounge, the new hot water system is fully installed and tested.

VAA no longer have to rely on the BAA Hot Water Supply and so, fingers crossed, all should run smoothly now.

The team in the lounge have asked all frontline staff to pass on the message that they are looking forward to welcoming our Upper Class and Gold Card passengers will a full service from today onwards.

Great news![^] Mind you, a cold shower was most invigorating after a night in a Y seat [ii]

One comment I would make, is that lack of advertising to UC pax travelling from the US about the existence of Revivals.

I have noticed in TRs, both here and on FT, that people only found out about Revivals by reading V-Flyer, or by accident. Certainly when I travelled UC from SFO last year, nothing was said to me.

Invitations, or at least a head up, would be nice. If, as you say, front line staff are starting to pass the message on, then this is certainly a start.

Great news, and even better that VS are no longer reliant on BAA's temperamental water supply, hopefully i will no longer experience the joys of a freezing cold shower at Revivals

Have to agree with Nick about the lack of Revivals advertising. On my flight back from IAD there was a mention of Revivals in the Freedom menu - but only because the flight was a GNF flight i suspect. I for one have not been told about Revivals by crew or check-in, i only knew of it by seeing the signs in arrivals and of course from reading about it here.

Still, if you have ever been there at 7am or so when all the morning flights get in - you'll be glad its not well advertised! Waiting for a warm shower after a red-eye is akin to watching paint dry

Indeed - and I've yet to see anything official (as in posted on the VS website) about the use of the US Airways arrivals lounge @ LGW.....

Yes - Revivals is now 'advertised' in the menu on board - particulaly on my VS012... The Revivals team are awesome! Always so helpful and friendly. I was chatting to the supervisor in there the other day and she told me she'd noticed an upturn in numbers recently - she didn't know anything about the notice in the menus! hehe,... sad really. you'd have thought virgin would have been better about communicating this sort of thing internally...

I should think it would be very sensible for VSS not to rely on BAA for anything.

I remember when I was doing my seniors course, we were taken to Revivals, I was well impressed. The reason the crew never really advertised it previously was because the Rvivals for a long time was invitration only, this was done by the ground staff in the states or outbound airport (well supposed to be done). However it is now open to all UC passengers....except staff of course [:#] lol.....Enjoy! Oh and the staff are fantastic in there...but thats a given....just like me! [:I] mwah ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Are you sure - as far as I know, it has always been open to Upper Class passengers and Gold Card customers. For a while Gold's could actually take a guest in for a fee.

Revivals is one of the joys of flying UC. The chance to have a hot shower and a decent breekie is worth the price alone.

Hopefully the pressure has improved too as I like the Karcher feel of the jets.[:I]

I have only ever once tried to use Revivals because normally it's more convenient to take a shower at home and get changed there before going into work. On my one attempt to use it back in May on my way back from IAD it was so busy that I was going to have to wait quite some time for a shower. As the Limobike driver arrived in Revivals while I waited I reconsidered that it would be quicker to do my 'usual' and took a shower at home before jumping back on the Limobike and continuing on to work.

Is it always so busy at about 8am?

Howard, the last time we arrived in Revivals off the VS22 we couldn't get a shower either

Good news! I always remember that my first ever trip to revivals included a saunter down to AA revivals to use their showers as the water was playing up.

Always been fine since and hopefully will now continue to do so..

One of the things that really stuck out for me about that was the service we had from the VS staff. Apologising for the inconvience, and then rather then telling us where to go we were escorted down to the AA lounge.

Just a very nice, and much appreciated touch.
