Afternoon one and all

Firstly I know I could get the answer by ringing FC but I don't wish to spend half an hour on hold!

Just been checking my FC statement online, I notice 'VAA Credit Card Companion Flight Qualification' - mileage '0' TP '0' has appeared.

OK I may be asking a very obvious question, but does that now mean I can 'spend' that? If so the OH will be in good spirits as she will be accompanying me to Vegas in Dec.

Yup it is now available for use - in the highest Fare Code in each class of course .

Well it depends on route - its Y,B for all routes, L is for most routes aside from NRT if I recall.

Also I would assume there would be taxes on the second 'free' ticket. Gold members maybe better off buying two tickets if the other person is a SSA.

All demends on the fare at the time of booking.

Yes the taxes on the companion fare would still be applicable (and payable )

The fare classes elligible for use with the companion voucher can be found in the FAQ but in short its:

Economy = Y + B + L + M (Y+B only ex-US, M only for Japan, South Africa and India)
Premium = W + S
Upper = J

I seem to recall something about D fares being eligible if enroute to LOS from the US, but i may be imagining it

Companion fares are generally most value for money if used on an S fare, that is how i have shifted mine each year.

Valid for 12 months. You do not have to fly within 12 months, just book within 12 months, so this slightly extends the life of the voucher.

I have received mine too, not a clue how to use it this year.
