OK, this is a little strange but please bear with me.

My g/f and I are flying out to LAS on 17th Sept to get married. My parents are also coming with me. We have all pre-booked our seats but my parents want to try and get the exit row seats and I know you can't pre-book these.

We thought about doing Twilight Check-In as soon as it opens as I assume you can request & pay for exit row seats if available at this point? If so brilliant.

However, even before all of this luggage problems my g/f and parents were not mega keen on dropping all the luggage of the night before. So is it possible to get to the airport the night before, twilight checkin to get exit row seats, and then come back and regular checkin the following morning to drop the bags of? Strange I know?!?!?

Or, is there a way you can purchase exit row seats (again if available) via OLCI or ringing VA in advance and then do regular checkin?

Hope this all makes sense as its a bit of a strange one I know and I just want to get it nailed down now. There all driving me nuts![:0]

Not sure about the whole twilight thing, but I know you cannot "buy" the exit row seats at OLCI or through VS before the flight, not even sure you can do so at Twilight (but ISTBC with that).

Why don't you do OLCI and the just get to the airport mega early so you are at the front of the queue and then request the exit row seats, this way you will keep you bags with you and get your best shot at the exit rows.

Yes you can buy exit seats at twilight but if you are checking in which is how you buy the seats (ISTBC) then you will need to leave your bags.

Getting married at the Grand Canyon but staying in Vegas before honeymooning to Palm Springs and LA.

Wow have a great time. If you can book a dinner at the Stratosphere I think you'd enjoy it we did.

I believe (but can't find a link) that you can check additional bags in the next day if you have used Twilight Check in (in fact, there's not a good reason to stop you).

The thing is, it will look strange if you check no bags in at all and then all of them the next day, and perhaps acting strangely isn't the best course of action in the current climate.

ISTBC by people who know more, but if you plan to use the twilight check in you will all need to go to the airport the night before. Not sure if this would be an issue for you, but I would hate you to think one of you can turn up to bag the seats.

Someone please put me right if I am off the mark.

You are correct Sailor, all passengers must appear at Twilight Check in.

Actually you cannot pay for the exit seats the night before during Twilight Check-in. There is no cashier working so can't take money so you would have to visit the next day. Same goes for doing upgrades.

Depending on the flights and time of year, I do not think there is normally a rush to pay for exit rows. Know quite a few pax who get this at check-in for free. Go early to check in on the day and ask.

Twightlight check-in and the current requirement to place toiletries (and more importantly, comestics for women) in hold luggage are not compatible for many people .

When we flew earlier this summer they were asking people on the aeroplane if they'd like to move to the exit row seats..

I think we are gonna have to go the morning of the flight and checkin because of the exit row seat thing.

One more, do you pay/request exit row seats at the checkin desk or at a ticket desk elsewhere? I assume checkin as my folks have done this with Delta before. Me, I'm a wuss and won't sit near to the door in case it blows open mid flight!!! [:0]

You are correct in your assumption, it's check in. I guess they have to do it there as you have to fulfil certain requirements in respect of being old enough and able bodied enough to open the door (at the appropriate time, naturally) in an emergency.

All true, which is interesting when you consider BA allow you to grab an exit row using OLCI. Although I do believe they don't charge for them either...
