Just looked through an offer sent through to me by AA. It appears as though you can purchase lounge admittance for $50 (or $75 for 2 people) to any of AA Admiral Lounges included one at Heathrow T3 which would be suitable for pax flying with VS (obviously those not flying Upper or who hold a gold card as the VS lounge is not to be missed!)

I have searched through the FAQs and T&Cs to see if you need to be flying AA and the only thing I can see is that you need a flight ticket in order to get through security and you must be an AA customer, which I believe you are simply by buying access.

Anyway, details of the offer are here

Helpful Paul and good spot.

Often I wonder if people who do not get free lounge access would not be better served by buying a meal or beer at the airport. Or saving there money. That said, once a person visits the CH....

I hope I may be wrong but my take on reading the T&Cs and the FAQs would be that you need to be a AA customer by which I think they mean flying with them. It isn't specifically spelt out but they may think it is a given - worth checking up on.

Also the AA Arivals Lounge at LHR is precluded from the offer.

What's the AA Lounge like in LHR, any good?

Following on from this reminds me of a question I asked recently that didn't get any answers - if flying in UC, does this allow you to use Singapore Airline's Raffles lounge? It's unlikely that you'd choose this over the Clubhouse, but if - say - the Clubhouse is full to bursting, could you "escape" across the way to their lounge instead?

I ask since it's certainly possible to use a Raffles/First Class ticket to get in to the Clubhouse. So, is the arrangment reciprocal?

Cheers,

Darryl

Any comments on whether it's worth the £26 for my 3-4 hours stuck in BOS waiting for an AA flight to Toronto? My experience of American airports has mostly been at JFK where there's a lack of comfy seating while waiting (and watching people go into the clubhouse [:$])
