Using miles from 2 accounts?

Have built up quite a few miles now few various ways, but was just wondering when spending miles, ie for an upgrade, do I have to have to spend the 80k miles all from my account, or can i take a % from mine and a % from t'other halfs?

The booking will be in my name and the other ticket in his name, but it would be better if we could split the miles usage rather than just all out of my account, but not sure if its possible, not in the mood to hang on for FF club so wondered if somebody here knew?

Cheers

As long as each 'reward' (ie: one way VS flight/upgrade) comes from each account that would be porrible.....

Ok, just incase anybody is actually interested, have just spoken to the ever helpful FF Red people and they confirmed that I can use miles from 2 accounts however I like, so say 10k from miles, 70k from his etc, which is most useful.

Erm that flies in the face of accepted wisdom so I'd double check. 100% of one leg is the normal rule I had enforced by Premier last week.

Wow, that is a surprise.

I always thought that it was as Juliet has said i.e. the whole reward had to from one account. For example, when booking 2 return trips - one return trip and a one way ticket from one account and another one way ticket from the second, giving a 75% - 25% split.

Well I can only say what the lady told me and she had to go check with her supervisor too, I asked if I could spend 25k of my miles and 15k of his miles to upgrade our outbound sector and she said yes that is fine, but did check if the other ticket was in his name (which it is).

I haven't booked it yet but will obviously double check when I call to book it. Its not a problem as we both plenty of miles in our accounts but I have more than him and just wanted to even things up a bit.
