If I purchase a qualifying ticket, can MORE THAN ONE other person travelling with me use their miles to buy a companion ticket ?
or is it limited to one only ?

This is a confusing question sorry. A companion ticket is free. You don't need to use miles to get it. You redeem it for a "free" seat. Hence by definition there is one companion.

Decker is correct, it is one companion ticket per qualifying revenue ticket. THey must travel on the same dates and flights as you.

You can now also still use your original revenue fare as a basis to upgrade too, so if you don't mind leaving your companion in the original booked class, you can shift up a class (or two) using miles.

Thanks,
Richard

Que? You've always been able to purchase a companion ticket with miles (subject to being on the correct revenue fare of course)...See here

In addition to answers provided, the "1 per revenue" is confirmed in the Ts&Cs:
4.3.7 You can request one companion return flight reward with Virgin Atlantic, provided that you and your companion both travel on the same flight and date, and your ticket has been purchased at a qualifying adult fare. Companion rewards are not valid for flights purchased through Virgin Holidays, Virgin Atlantic Vacations, Virgin Values or any other tour operator. Other exemptions include flights purchased at group fares, promotional rates or other selected discount levels.

Cheers

Michael
