im sure vs used to fly to Athens, what happend, why did they stop?

I think this has been discussed a few times before in various threads, if you use the wonderful search engine this site has and type in Athens it brings up a few threads which has this discussed within them.

IIRC they were going to go on their honeymoon to Greece (???) weren't they, but I'm so confused...[:I][:#][?]

Yes they were, but because Ross said Rachel instead of Emily they didn't go, Ross was then going to go with Rachel but Emily turned up at the airport at the last minute so Rachel ended up going on her own, simple!!
