After such a fantastic time at the Virgin lounge at Gatwick (as much food, drink inc Champagne etc....) I was looking foward to going to the Virgin lounge (Delta Owned) in Orlando to wait for my return flight home.
So we checked our bags in at orlando, went thoruigh security etc. Made our way up to the lounge. Had a look round got some seats. Sat their for 10 mins and no one servered us (i now know they do not offer this) so went to the bar NO CHAMPAGNE, NO COOKED Food only snacks (Crappy cheese, few biscuits etc)
I must say that me & my other half are very disopointed, currently still sitting here as the flight is delayed 2 hours 30mins

Thats all just my 2p's worth

Hi Kelvyn
I'm sure nearly everyone here will agree that any of the shared lounges are not a patch on the Clubhouses. We had the same sense of disappointment at the Delta Lounge in MCO - especially when it came to hot food, but it still beats the crowded departure lounge.

Sorry it is not going well for you there. I did get served whilst sitting in my seat, so you might do well to ask the staff for what you want. If I remember correctly I had some toasted sandwiches and some orange juice.
Naturally, you will have a Sinead O'Connor moment if you think about the virgin clubhouse.

Well at least its peacefull and well appointed, nice views of the planes etc. Also gets you away from the crazy kids playing football and chasing each other around departures.

Kelvyn,
I think you hit home with the words Virgin lounge (Delta Owned). It is not a Virgin lounge/Clubhouse but another airlines facility. Sadly we have all become spoilt with with the Clubhouses and some flagship lounges of other airlines (SQ, BA Terraces etc) and the harsh reality is that the majority of lounges around the world simply offer a quiet place away from the crowd to do some work or read a paper, and a selection of refreshments.
As others have said, at least it is preferential to being sat in the departure lounge of MCO with a dozen children running amock.
Thanks,
Sarah

It is probably still better than the Escape lounge we have to use at Manchester Airport!!!
At least you had the opportunity to sample the Virgin one at Gatwick!!

Well Ive never used a Virgin Clubhouse but have used other airline lounges in my time and as far as a place to relax and get out of the "hussle and bussle" of the terminal it was very pleasant - I assume we were in there the same day as Kelvyn leaving on the MAN flight - I managed to go to the bar and order myself some drinks and I even managed to carry some honey roasted peanuts!!
And anyway - they feed you as soon as you get in the plane - so surely its not too much of a problem that there's no nosh??

Nope the Delta MCO lounge is not a patch on any VS clubhouse I've been in BUT its still better than waiting by the gate which has always been chaos the few times I've done it there.
With quite heavy traffic going through MCO I'm suprised out of all the B&S routes its one they havn't invested a CH in..

The delta lounge is quite a pleasant one compared to a lot of the US airline lounges and is very bright and airy. A plus compared to even the clubhouse is the free WiFi in the lounge.

As VS shared lounges go the MCO Delta crown club is not bad when compared to the North Worst dungeon at BOS or that hole in LAX they used to send you to.
As a word of warning about bad lounges, if you are ever in HNL do not bother trecking miles to the AA/QF lounge. You have to beg the lounge dragon for a beer(locked away in the back) then she refuses you after 2 bottles as you will be too drunk to board,I kid you not.Use your PP card and go to the CO Presidents Club you are allowed more than 2 beers here:D
