We are flying economy to LAX on Wednesday morning. Is there a power supply to plug in electrical items at all? I know there is in premium economy and upper class.

Cheers for the answer. That was mrs steg wanting to know that as she has one of those portable dvd players. . . . never mind!
Oh, another question I've flown with US Airways alot recently and they charge $5 (I think) for the inflight headphones do Virgin operate a similar charge?
Thanks.

No, headsets in economy are free, but they are now collected in at the end of the flight.
They are okey, but not great. Most regular fliers on here seem to take their own, as the connection is a standard small jack like the iPod.

steg,
Just to add that if you do decide to go out and buy your own headphones, if you use the search feature on V-Flyer you'll find a number of threads relating to noise cancellation headphones and their relative merits.

I've found that any kind of "in ear" headphone improves the sound a great deal. I use Sony EX71SL (about £25 a couple of years ago) and they work a treat.
