Miles more Friends question

I'm going to Orlando in December with 4 Virgin "Newbies",
so I'm obviously keen to use Miles more Friends to get myself
piles of Miles!

However, as we are flying out UC, and returning PE,
how will this affect the award - will I still get
15,000 miles per person, 7,500, or somewhere in between?

There is nothing in the T+Cs to cover this scenario,
so I wondered if anyone on here knows what will happen...?

As far as I know, you will get nothing. As it has to be two sectors in the classes. So if they were to do the same itin again anytime in the future, you would get 22,500 miles.

Actually Richard I seem to remember asking FC this before and getting the reply that as long as the fare classes of both sectors were qualifying (which in this case they will be as it's PE & UC), then it'd be pro-rata for each sector (i.e. 7.5k for the outbound and 3.75k for the inbound). Might be worth it for Mark to give FC a ring for the definitive answer.

BTW, I don't think they'd get 22.5k for a later identical itinerary anyway, as it's only the first qualifying flight that earns a referral bonus - not a combination of the first 2!

Yeah, looking at the current incarnation of the MMF website it would so indicate that it is solely based on their first qualifying flight. In the past, it was worded as 'when they take their first Qualifying Upper/Premium' etc flight - I know I have referred people in the past and got the 2k and then 7.5k when they have moved up to do another set of flgihts in PE.

I will check for sure tomorrow, unless they pop in here later....

EDIT - Looking back the T&C's have been updated quite a few times - such as the numbe rof people you can refer, the introduction of S fares, and adding Z's as qualifying fares. This instance for example:

I've never had that from any of my referrals, even when I've known they've taken qualifying flights in other classes after their first one...

Ummm, even though the right hand pane says "first round trip in [class]", the main text still says "Every time someone you introduce to flying club joins up* and takes their first qualifying flight (my emphasis), you'll earn thousands of miles."

I checked and the terms changed with the refresh earlier this year.

-Number of people you can refer is now 10 due to some individuals/organisations spoiling it.
- You are correct for the earning nowadays, the first qualifying sector acts as the trigger and the second qualifying sector as the close. So if you did a sector on one trip in L, and the next qualifying sector was a Z, then you'd get 50% mileage (1500 + 7,500).

The terms have changed many times during the years by the looks of it.
