Provisional Bookings to Reveal Scheduled Suites

On one of the other topics one of our regulars said he had done a "provisional booking" on Expedia which revealed the seating configuration for a flight in question to be a Suite setup.
Exactly how does one go about finding that information on Expedia? I tried last evening for my scheduled trip (VS8-5/1/04 and VS7 on 5/11/04) but couldn't get seat maps to come up.
Thanks in advance to anyone who knows the answer.
Regards.

Hi chuckc,
I went all the way through the UC booking process on expedia ( sining in incuded) then there is an option to choose your seats. I clicked the box and the seat pinpointer came up showing UC rows up to 20 on the 747-400 which suggests a suite ( normal UC only goes up to 15).
Occasionally no seat map is available-maybe they have not decided on the configuration yet?

TBS,
Thanks so much. I couldn't make that work for me. I guess that VS is counting on having the two additional ladies outfitted with UCS by May. Did you happen to check the inbound (VS7-5/11/04) as well?

Chuck

Hi chuckC,
I'm sorry. I should have made it clear that the suite configuration applied to my SFO flights and not to the LAX flights.Sorry for any confusion.
After getting the hang of the US date format:D, I have just checked your flight details.
Unfortunately , on both flights the seat maps go up to 15 ( ie non suite equipped 747-400's). [:(]
However it could change in the next 4 months prior to flight date.

TBS,
I finally figured that out, thanks to your assistance. Well, at least we know there is another way to check out the possibilities of suite configuration. How reliable do you suppose this method to be, however?
By the way, a bit off topic, but I assume from your handle that you come to the US frequently as an international banker. I have a very good friend who retired after running Europe for Manny-Hanny/Chemical.
Thx again for your help, TBS. - Chuck

Hi chuckC,
Thanks for your comments. I do fly to the US about four-five time a year but it is all on leisure fares and my own time as my deaprtment does not do any business in the US ( mainly UK)
I do work for a bank in Scotland ( Edinburgh) hence my handle.
I would hope that with the couple more aircraft slated for the UCS refit the chances would improve but do not know if LAX would be next in line.
For what its worth, both my flights at new year to SFO were as scheduled in the seat map a few weeks previously ( A340-300 outbound, 747-400 non suite inbound to the UK)
