Metal cutlery

Evening peeps.

Flew into LHR today on VS008 and was most surprised that in UCS there were metal knives, forks and spoons. OK the knife was as sharp as a butter knife, but still....

No we know where the savings on the scrooge packs have gone.

I'll do a trip report when the jetlag wears off.

Cheers

Nope - they were re-introduced before the scrooge packs if memory serves me correctly... [:?]

Don't worry, in June no metal cutlery from JFK, in July and August no metal cutlery from Boston - maybe it's not quite back everywhere?

Still had plastic cutlery LGW-MCO this month! But as a plus did still get an OB kit and not a scrooge pack!

Strange I had the new metal cutlery (with the cut-off portion at the end of the knife) LGW-MCO back in June. Would have though LGW and LHR catering supplies would be 100% if not the out stations?

Metal cutlery was rolled out on all routes (except HKG/SYD). However substantial amounts went missing (own up those of you with a full set at home ;)) so the plastic cutlery was temporarily brought back.

The 2nd rollout is happening now and this time it hopefully won't go walkabout.

Missing ... who on earth is so desperate they want VS cutlery!

And, why can't VS supply it even if people are that desperate!

Sorry, this is a cover up [}:)]

To be honest, I'm not that hung up on having metal cutlery and would actually prefer plastic from a security point of view.

VS.

As a small child I always used a small set of BOAC Cutlery my mum nicked off her first ever flight (Manchester- Prestwick- Toronto Boeing 707). I also have an old VS set (they use them in the Office Dining Room and one ended up in my Tuppawear Box once).

I can understand, but not condone, people walking off with the sleep suits; they are rather nice. And the salt and pepper pots did used to be kind of cute. But a knife and fork - perlease!

Next we will see barph bags turning up on ebay!
