VA - FCA

Just booked a sailing trip to the Caribbean and for the first time ever Virgin P.E. class was cheaper than FCA premier star class by around £80.

Due to a computer problem I ended up having to phone my reservation through and boy was I suprised. The guy at V.A. could not have been more helpful or caring.

Once our booking for PE was sorted he offered to look into UC availability and call me back with an offer if I was interested. The V.A. website was showing £2.5K for U.C., I am a silver in their loyalty programme (which I thought counted for diddily) but he made such a big issue of it (no pun intended) he offered to do a deal on UC for £1k less than showing. Unbelievable! He even reminded me to get some of my crew to sign up for membership so that I could claim 7,500 miles for each of them

Sadly, my crew declined the upgrade offer as they would rather keep the £800 for buying rum for the boat.

Oh well, well done to V.A., this has been my best flight booking experience ever

Don't think that Sailor will see that as a "sad" thing to do - far from it!!

Great service from VS though!!

It shows the advantage of the personal touch that is quite challenging to deliver over an internet based booking system. I guess you could build in all the factors into a system (loads, FF status etc) but it wouldn't have the same impact on the potential client as being told "I should be charging xx for this but you can have it for y". Slightly O/T but through calling rather than trusting what he was offered on the internet my son got his mobile phone rate cut by £25 a month..because he was a good customer, didn't want a new phone etc...
