I noticed it was slow and not retrieving bookings earlier, now they have taken it down and posted a holding message. Damn, just when I needed to firm up my seat allocations!

Seems to be happening a lot at the moment, think it is still to do with the new features and doing updates on those etc.

Still down for me - ho hum, I wonder how much lost business this causes?

I agree, it happens WAY too often. It must lose them a fortune in lost revenue and it doesn't reflect well on the company.

My son got his 2K birthday bonus today and can't get online to get them added to his account. [:(!]

I have just been talking to Premier Team, it is not just the VS website that has gone down but the whole reservation system! It came back up for half an hour but then crashed again.

virgin-atlantic.com is the official web address I believe. Perhaps there's something going wrong with the automatic referral so when you go to virginatlantic.com it doesn't work.

I found that if the website says its down, type in http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/booking

The page will give you an error page but you can access the links on the right hand side and they bring you into the site! It's ALWAYS worked for me when the main page has been down..

Hmmmm It's down again??

It's been down more times than a Vegas Crack ho' [}:)]

They'd be better off with a BBc B or a ZX Spectrum [:w]

All the various domains mentioned here resolve to the same IP address, so they are using the same server (farm). Looking at the name server configuration though, they are slightly different for each domain. Don't think that is the problem though. It might be that because we are all frequent visitors, some of us have pages cached, and so long as we are not carrying out transactions, such as querying flights, we get a valid response from the cache. Just a thought. I'll keep an eye on them out of interest.[:?]
