Im in oz at the mo and have flew with virgin blue 4 times (flew quantas once when i got here - never again!). I've been trying to book a flight from brisbane to sydney the last two days and I've came across a problem!

I have a nationwide credit card it doesnt charge me the 2.75% for foreign transactions so when DJ's website asks me if I want to pay in sertling or AUD I pick AUD to save a few pennies. The thing is the site is now declining my card because I wont pay in sterling!!

Ive emailed virgin blue asking them why this is happening and to sort it out but still no reply! Anyone else had this problem with them?

I am afraid many airline sites do not accpet credit cards from other countries. Fom what I recall if you try and buy a VS ticket from the US to the UK with a UK credit card it will not accept it.

Amex does work online with Virgin Blue [y] As that's how I booked my ticket.

It also works with most US based airline web sites as well.

I found the web address validation didnt work for me until (on the advice of the helpline at a US Airline) I entered "Arizona" for state, and "000000" as zip code with all the other details correct and it worked.

Thanks for your replies guys

I can book tickets with a UK card, I had already booked 2 flights with them before I came to oz, problem is now they are wanting me to pay in sterling at a exchange rate they decide!

I couldnt hold off anymore and just booked it and paid in sterling. Still no reply to my email to them either.

The only reason Im annoied is that I choose them over jet star (the prices where almost the same) had I booked with jet star they would have let me pay in AUD![V]
