Hi all,

Apologies for potential duplication (and I could just phone the Premier Team as well I guess!) but I thought I'd throw it out to the experts here first!

I recently changed the details of two reward tickets (one full, one Y-->G), both dates and destinations. (LHR-->SFO became LHR-->LAX). The helpful agent who made the changes told me that my 6-character booking references would stay the same - and indeed they have when I see the new details on the VA website - but shouldn't I expect to also receive two new updated emails with the new itinerary details? I'm happy that I have the flights I booked, but call me old fashioned, I just like to have a printed piece of paper with the correct details to hand when checking in, too!

Cheers,

Darryl

You don't actually need an updated e-ticket as the VS check-in agents just access your booking using either your name or PNR.

You can get an e-ticket receipt from either the ticket desk or the self service machines at the airport if you really want, but you dont have to.

VS will be happy to re-issue you your e-ticket if you ask them, but again it's not required as long as your PNR stays the same.

Regards

Hi James,

Excellent, that answers my question perfectly!

I shall turn up with the booking references to hand if required, otherwise I shall rely on mine and the missus' name getting us on the plane!

Cheers,

Darryl

I recently changed a reward booking - changed the day of the flight. I did it over the phone and didn't have the facility to receive or indeed to print off an email. When I turned up with my old PNR it was accepted without question.

When I upgraded my booking from PE to UC, they reissued my e-ticket, but only so as to confirm the new details (PNR is the same).

I guess they did this so I will be able to get past the security people "guarding" the UC check-in line at MAN (who from various trip reports on this site, seem to think that anyone who is not "suited & booted" is travelling in Economy, until they see the ticket).
