Gatwick caribean flight times

We are popping over to St Lucia next Friday in PE, and I have just realised(!) that the flight leaves at 09:15 - when did this change, as those flights used to leave around 10:30 or 10:45 in previous years?
And does anyone have any idea what the security queues are like - Heathrow T3 was a zoo when I went to Delhi a couple of weeks ago, but what will Gatwick be like at around 07:30... we are staying at the Hilton, so should we aim to be through earlier to miss the queue, and have breakfast airside? I hate getting up early in the morning!

Do the time changes not have something to do with Virgin dropping the double drop services that they used to opperate to the Caribean

I travelled through LGW twice this week. South Terminal security took me 55mins, and that was with no VS flights leaving. Queue was backed up in to VS check in though. North terminal was much better with only about 5 mins to get through.
However check out the security entrance on the upper level in the village shopping area, I forgot it was there. Should be a lot quieter.

I did pick up a timetable the other week at LGW so could have provided you with an answer. Dont some of the UVF service operate via BGI?!? It seems alot of VS flights are now leaving around the 9am mark from LGW.

Hmmm - another security line - where is that, in Gatwick North or South, where VS fly from?
We will be checking in the day beforem, so it's straight into the security line for us...

Im not certain but I think that the times change to ensure that VS get the same arrivals and departures time from whichever island it may be.
We dont change our clocks to observe daylight savings time (too much like hard work) so depending on what time of year it is we are either four or five hours behind GMT.

Hi DS,
If I understand you right it is not another security line but an additional way in to airside on the upper level which not so many poeple know about so is quieter. HTH. It is in South term and it brings you in near the entrance to the VS CH.
