OLCI and miles upgrade

hi guys

quick question from all you soothsayers

if i do online checkin 24 hours before hand , will it do me any harm if i want to upgrade with miles on the day at the airport

i.e will they not upgrade me with miles at the airport if i have already checked in online in economy ( too much paperwork for them ? )

You will be fine if you do OLCI and want to upgrade with miles on the day. I imagine however you won't be able to do the upgrade at the "Bag Drop" counter, and will probably have to use the ticket desk.

The last two times I have upgraded with miles on the day, after doing OLCI, they had to offload me from the flight first. The ticket desk staff are excellent, and I'm sure they will tell you it is no bother, but it takes around 15-20 minutes and a couple of phone calls to do all of this.
