Hi

I am travelling on VS 20 on October 16 in UC and i have seats 8k 9a 10a and i will use the OLCI to confirm them and maybe change them to seats farther away from the massage station but i was wondering if i were to use the OLCI 30 after the 24hr mark will people have already checked in at taken the good seats?

Thanks

I am not 100% sure what you mean by "30 after the 24hr mark", but OLCI opens exaclty 24hours before your flight leaves. At this point all seats in UC will be available for selection apart from the ones that are already pre-selected. You will not be able to select a seat if somebody has pre-selected it even if they have not used OLCI yet. SO your only options will be the seats you have already selected or the 40% of seats that are not available for pre-selection, and these are on a first come first served basis, so the earlier you use OLCI the more options you are likely to have.

I mean if my flight leaves at 16:30 and i get on OLCI at 17:00 the day before are most of the 40% of seats going to be taken in that 30 min period of time between 16:30 and 17:OO that i missed? I am basically trying to find out if this is like Southwest's Online Check in where a everyone trys to check in the second online checkin opens for their flight.

Ah ok - well thats a very tough question to answer. I very much doubt that everybody is sat waiting for OLCI to open, but obviously some of the extra 40% could go in that period. Most of the people who want to get the seats they want will of already pre-selected them, so this should mean there isn't a rush at OLCI opening.

Obviously the earlier you use OLCI the better option you have for getting the seats you want.

So Attitude, I guess what you mean is:

Very unlikely, C2L.

Except roughly a minute and a half later than Mrs Preiffer ;)

a quickie from me... Which seats are released on the day then? I guess I could pop into work to use the printer if it was worth it. Currently in 4a upstairs, but could be tempted to check in on line if a better seat was possible! TIA.

No specific seat numbers are released, just the remaining 40% that is not available for pre-selection. Why would you need to use works printer? You do not need to print anything out when using OLCI, you still get your boarding card at normal check in/bag drop.
