Virgin or Maxjet ?

May seem like a no brainer, but my s/o is trying to talk me into Maxjet.

Virgin-Las. Nov

~£760 in PE. Miles to be earned 15,000 from flying, and ~5000 with VA Amex.

MaxJet-Las Nov

£599, NO miles from flying, ~2400 from VA Amex.

In sumarry, Maxjet is £150 cheaper, but come with 17,500 less flying club miles.

Definitely a no brainer when you look at the service and space: MAXjet. MAXJet may be cheaper, but it's business class not PE.

Depends on what you want to do. With Maxjet you are certainly getting more for your money than Virgin PE and its cheaper too. But it depends on how bad you need/want those extra miles.

If you don't need them go with Maxjet, I know I would but thats just me[ii]

Just looked at Maxjet for NYC but decided to stick with VS (various reasons I won't bore you with), but Maxjet are offering a very good service and those sale prices are excellent, I would go Maxjet if I were you, as Blackcat has said, you are getting a Business Class product for less than a PE product, loyality is great, but money pays your way!

Does look like a good offer - what lounge does Maxjet use?

Their own at STN (think it was the former SAS lounge) Korean at JFK not a clue at IAD or Vegas.

nevadakaz you could always buy the miles from VS with the money saved(10k miles £165) if you are close to a reward ticket. There is no way I would ever use VS or BA W over Maxjet unless I needed the TPs, in fact there is no way I would bother with either of these products full stop if it wasn't for the TPs.

Thanks for all of the replies.

Quite suprised nobody chose Virgin, as that was the way I was leaning. S/O has read this thread, and we will be travelling Maxjet !

The miles are not needed imminently, just wanted to see if they swayed peoples decisions.

Once again, thanks for all of the replies.

All international flights at LAS use Terminal 2 as there are no immigration facilities at Terminal1.

LAS Terminal2 is small and only has one shared lounge for all airlines. It is OK but not wonderful and no where near a VS Clubhouse. So in short, the LAS lounge for Maxjet and VS will be the same; provided that Maxjet secure the use of the lounge.

Note that only UC VS pax get lounge access. We are comparing Maxjet J and VS PE here where there is no lounge access of PE pax.
