Our facilities dept have just received this from BA today (typical):

IMPORTANT CUSTOMER NOTICE

ROADWORKS AT LONDON HEATHROW AIRPORT
AFFECTING TERMINALS 1, 2 AND 3
FROM MONDAY 7TH JUNE 2004 -
LASTING APPROX 10 WEEKS.

From next Monday the 7th of June, the tunnels leading into and out of terminals 1, 2 and 3 at LHR airport will undergo major works lasting at least 10 weeks.

We cannot predict precisely how this will affect the ability of any vehicles to access the airport when collecting and dropping passengers at Terminals 1, 2 and 3.

However, for the duration of the road works, we strongly recommend travellers going into or out of LHR allow an additional 30 minutes to their journey and adjust their collection times accordingly.

We will notify you of any further developments.

Cheers

Michael

Thanks Michael.

Given the chaos around the terminal buildings at the best of times, I would say that the more time you can allow the better.

I just can't believe it took over 10 days for the email to get from BA to our facilities dept (one or the other is vastly inefficient :D)

It's gonna be more than chaos [:(!]

Cheers

there really should be more than two tunnels in and out of the central area.

One going in the south direction perhaps, like the one for airport vehicles on the apron.
