The introduction of the new PE improvements have been quoted from Nov 2006. Whether this is the 1st of Nov remains to be confirmed. Let us know what happens on the 2nd with a TR if possible.

According to the
VS website and what V-Ben has said in a few topics the PE changes are starting in November, obviously the seats will be done over a period of time but the new service including food should be all go in November.
Hopefully our fellow V-Flyers will be able to keep us upto date also and report back in TR's about if they have/haven't had the new PE service.
Neil:)

Begining November i've been told for Catering, though I think the roll out onto various routes does take a few days... also return catering likely to take longer than ex LHR and LGW.
I have my fingers crossed for Nov 4th ex LGW when I'll be flying.

Is it actually a new meal, or just the economy one in a posh dish? Also will the new aminety kits be available by the 8th Nov, which is when i fly?

Its new food.
The trials have been done with Ycl food, but the launch will have seperate menus.
As for the amenity kits... same answer as my post above.. ie, don't know.

Has anyone seen any changes yet? We flew back (MCO-MAN) Nov 4th and nothing had changed. We're off again in a few weeks and are hoping things have improved. The kids have asked me to cancel their meals if they're going to get chicken teddies for the 4th time this year. [n]

Ah, the CHMLs will probably be the same regardless - remember an Upper Class CHML is just an Economy CHML on a plate.
Cheers,
Mike

Decker posted at TR just a yday or the day before about the New PE service. It was ex LHR though. Knwoing VS it will take a while for the b+s routes to be switched over.

I flew W on my flight from Blightey back home to Bosotn last week. Same old seat sadly, but yes, the new W enhancements are coming through. New blanket (dark purple, with brown/tan trim) - Y still gets the same old one. Dedicated crew in the cabin, so a lot more service. Separate meal service - a slightly better appetizer, three higher quality mains, nice touches too. A menu given out when ou sit down (remember how we all used to get menus?), a snack service during the flight - bowl of fruit carried around by the crew (same fruit bowl type as used in J) and other snacks - organic chocolate bars and more. I think I was on one of the first flights with the new service ... the crew was very confused by it all and it seemed to take forever for them to undertake the meal service. I chatted to a few of them at the back galley and they were having real difficulty figuring out all the new things. For a final touch of class, I would encourage VS to introduce champagne in W throughout the flight (SQ offers this in W) and to serve all drinks in glasses rather than plastic cups. Talking of which - even the glasses on the meal tray are nicer than the Y ones! Nice touches!

That's a point - any ideas on when the B+S routes will have the new PE service. I am particularly interested in MAN-MCO (for purely altruistic reasons you undertand)

All VS routes (including the MAN>MCO route) now have the new Premium Economy on-board service.
My parents where on the VS74 last week and they received the new on-board PE service as per the VS web site. My mum said the new wrap-around blankets where very good.

Went both ways to Newark on PE over the weekend. I will upload a scan of the menu which mysteriously ended up in my hand luggage.
Also, bottled water for all PE guests waiting in the seat backs now.
Really got to say I didn't really feel that we had better service from Dedicated crew. Both ways we had 1 crew for the PE section. On the way out this lead to us having bread served well after all had finished the meal and we all were left pinned into our seats for an hour after the meal due to trays not being collected.
