From what I remember clause 4.13 of the Flying Club terms states miles cannot be sold. Still true?

If so, this auction needs to be reported to eBay. Please have a go if you have an eBay ID; the faster it goes away, the better. EBay won't end the auction unless it's reported. The more reports, the faster it goes.

I'd hate to see someone find out the hard way it isn't allowed, after they spend all those dollar$.

Shame to see VS shut down the FC account this seller has, to boot... oh well, after that many miles, one should read the rules [:w]

So to play Devil's advocate....

It is fine for VS to profit out of the sale of FF miles, but not for an individual? It would make an interesting case of law if it went to court. (But it won't be me finding out first hand that's for sure).

Paul if you want gift (sell?) miles you can buy up to 25,000 miles per annum which you can gift (sell?) to any other Flying Club member.

That was exactly my point. Problem is that I can only gift (sell?) miles that I don't already 'own'.

That is it Paul, VS want the revenue for the miles sold rather than allowing FC members to sell miles they have earned. Doesn't seem fair I agree but what in life is?

If you wanna gift 'em you have to buy 'em first.

I think the policy on the whole is correct, however there are times that I think exceptions could (and should) be made.
For example 2 people traveling together being able to pool miles to make the total needed for the trip.

They already can to a certain extent. You can buy a ticket with miles for a single segment for somebody else if you wish; i.e. FC member A could purchase one return for him/herself and the out-bound segment for Person B and Person B could purchase the in-bound segment of their ticket.

Perhaps not as flexible as you would like but it is helpful.

I have got the final leg on hold for 48 hours but after paying for the taxes and 137.5k miles out for the other 3 legs I am left with a problem.

I did ask if I could lend/give him 3k miles or if they would let him go overdrawn until his miles for signing up to AMEX hit his account but unfortunately that is not policy so we are left with the hope that MBNA will get their act together and credit the miles within the next couple of days[:(]
