Sorry if this has been posted already, couldn't see it anywhere obvious...

Chief honcho of LHR, Tony Douglas, was on LBC radio this morning saying that security will never be the same again, and that they are installing 13 new security screening points and hiring 500 more "security guards" at LHR.

Anyone care to suggest he's about five years late?

This is the same guy who, following the police anti-terrorism operation, said on Thursday, 10 August, that LHR would be "open as usual" on Friday, 11 August. LOL!

Cheers, Howard

Bit OT , but just read in the paper today that liquids will be allowed from the 6th November or something like that.

Only slightly hypocrtical then[B)]

I think people like that just try to follow the media hype of the moment - this time last year we were dying of bird flu and now it's aviation carbon emmissions[?][:0]

Yes very much in line with the US. A litre/quart resealable transparent plastic bag (like a freezer bag) containing liquids/gels, with each individual container being no more than 100ml/3oz.

I wonder what change to the security threat will happen on 5th November such that on the 6th we are allowed to take liquids on board?

Check this out:

It makes a mockery of what we've had to suffer over the past 10 weeks.

Cheers, Howard
