V-Flyer luggage tags

Just a quick question......
Do you think you are treated any different at check-in if you have V-Flyer luggage tags? Do most VS staff know about V-flyer?
I am going to order mine tomorrow

I doubt the check in staff take much notice? They have other things to do than look at peoples tags and comment? Would be nice to think they did all notice though! [:?]

Sorry, but if you are ordering V-Flyer membership in the hope that you will receive preferential treatment from VS, then I believe you will be disappointed.
Though most of the regular posters here are supportive of the Virgin brand, we are independent from them, and any staffers that post here do so in a personal capacity.
A lot of staff know about V-Flyer, but a lot don't.
The memberships are to help pay for things like bandwidth and other site expenses. The point of the membership is also to foster the spirit of the V-Flyer site, and the V-Flyer Clubhouse is the 'members only' forum that reflects this.
When more of the long awaited site re-vamps come on line, there may well be additional membership benefits. Or, at least, more incentives to join - if you want to take an active role in debates.

It was just a general question about people noticing the tags, not in the hope of any special treatment [:I], just thought that you may get the occasional smile and nod from Virgin staff who notice the tags. Perhaps I should have worded my post more carefully.
I am aware that purchasing the membership kits, helps support and maintain this site. I think the site is great and I always manage to have a peak daily.

I put the tags on last year when flying to St Lucia ( I had the red membership) and the check in agent thought they were to match my red freq flyer card!:D& of course i gave her a v-flyer card as she wanted to know more about the site.
However i recently flew with BA with my silver v-flyer tag on my trolley case and the BA staff were curiously looking at it![}:)]

I just went to purchase my Membership card, but it seems that my email address is too long to put on any of the personnalised lines. Is it only limited to 20 characters? [:0]
Is it my browser that has problems, or is it limited?

Had the same problem. Put a note with the complete email address in your PayPal payment (there's a comment box) and it should be sorted out. Mine was! (I kept coming up 'vs_itsallgoo' which won't do a heck of a lot of good sending me an email! The only time that happens is after a really good massage

)
Enjoy your shiny new cards! I've already had one comment, as in: 'I wish our flyers would start a site like that one. You guys are really loyal!' [8D]

Well, there is a limit to the length of the line - so if you're more than a few characters over, the print will run off the edge of the card!
But, as vs_itsallgood points out, you can put special requests in the comments box if necessary.

I think VS Gold Cards will get you more preferential treatment, but its great nonetheless to support V-Flyer on your travels. I have before now (as I'm sure many of us have) left cards by the terminals in clubhouses, or kept it on the main page when I leave my computer.
Cheers!

Recently returned from India with VS Gold card and F-Flyer black card on my luggage ... guess which one fell off/got lifted? Yup, good taste baggage handlers clearly more interested in V-Flyer

.
Now I'll have to order some new ones!

My luggage tags were also removed from my bag on the way to LAX last week.

We are very proud of our luggage tags

and would hate to lose them, so ours go on our hand luggage only, and woe betide anyone that tries to nick them off of there [B)]

Your V-flyer tags aren't the only thing some sticky-fingered ones like. I've lost one Boateng tag and my old Lewis from somewhere at LAX (and I'm betting it was in the TSA line - my duck was INSIDE my locked carry-on as my good-luck charm, knotted to the key ring clip. I was so torqued! I unlocked it ONLY when it went onto the belt. You figure out who had access to it. [:w] Need I say how much I dislike the TSA??? I saw it was gone only when I was airside and stowing a book I'd just purchased for later reading). I can't say for sure if that's where the Boateng tag grew legs, but I have my suspicions.
The V-Flyer tag was unbuckled, but still attached. I promptly changed the strap to the stretchy plastic connectors from 3-M and tucked it inside the now-empty waterbottle pouch for safekeeping. As soon as my checked bag came through at PHX, I changed its keeper too.
So, if you have anything which is out of the ordinary and says 'VS' all over, I'd give it a good hiding place whilst in crowds. Of course, this defeats the purpose of the tags, now doesn't it?
EBay took care of a new duckie (four, actually), and I had another red/black tag, but what's the world coming to? I've thought of having my next set of V-Flyer tags read Don't steal this tag, join V-Flyer and get your very own! on them, but it probably won't do any good.

Just like the salt and pepper pot sitting on my desk with 'Pinched from Virgin' on their feet [:p]
