As Freeway says, it's been 750 miles for a while now (I've certainly earnt that each time - and I pay by my 2x earning Amex card, so I get a few extra that way too :D).

To answer Jonathan's question about the 10miles per £1 - it's in the RT magazine, and also here (scroll down to Tax Free Shopping)

At a guess with a 4x Amex card.

I must admit I've found the Virgin Wines 750 miles a great little mileage earner. Normally I get a case a month, and also used them for quite a few Christmas presents (well it saves me having to visit a shop).

Of course it does have some other..er...benefits [:o)][xx(]....hic

how does one get 4x amex points; are we talking centurion?

Is that 2x amex offer card then double for direct spend with VS[?]

quote:are we talking centurion

I have been told on here somewhere cent card is only £1 to 1 MRP unless a special offer is in effect.

LOL - am on a training course in Laaaarndan this week, and then connecting on a dial-up at night, sorry :D

The extra miles come from the 2xMR points AMEX Gold card on the VS offer - you get 2xMR points per £1 on each normal transaction and 4xMR points per £1 spent direct with VS. I've found that the pre-order service qualifies for that - or at least, my MR balance seems to reflect it [8D]

BTW, yes I got the number wrong (sorry) - it should be 08701 903003

Cheers

Hmm I might apply for a card then as £1 will always get 2 miles as my VS Mastercard does now
but double double miles spending direct with VS seems appealing!

is there a link on the vs site or do I connect straight to amex for the vs direct offer?

Sorry mate, I think it finished at the end of January - there was a link direct from the VS website (here) which disappeared a while ago [:(]

Ummm, isn't that the 2MR points for every £1 spent direct with VS and only 1MR point per £1 for normal spend with an £80 fee (free 1st year)? [?]

The Virgin Wines offer of 750 miles per order has been the norm for a long time, they did a promo last autumn where they doubled that to 1500 miles per order, I bought stacks of the stuff, one day I placed 8 separate orders, four for me and four for birkin as we are both members, easy 12000 miles for spend (incl delivery) of c. £240 and some nice wine too ;). These were the gift cases, one each of red and white plus a bottle of champers.

...and yes the Amex 2xMR for normal spend and 4xMR for VA spend promo has ended some time ago, guess it became too popular [:(]

Yeah, I wish Virgin Wines would put some good specials on this year - I'm just itching to earn more miles for getting ratted :D

Well, it was a promo in so much as the card was available as a promo - I'm still happily earning away at those rates [^]

Sorry - the 4x AmEx card is long gone - I think the marketing team at AmEx learned their lesson that its always a good idea to consult with certain other card teams first before putting out an offer that good.

2x and 4x points certainly do help rack up the points!

Thanks,
Richard
