Is there a way of knowing what the menu's are for a particular flight. I'm flying Premium Economy in February LHR-JFK and just curious as to what food will be served.

Chicken or Beef, I'd say Mark ;)

Oh - and a veggie option too!

Seriously though, they tend to be the same for a while, so check out the trip reports for the same flights about 3-4 weeks before yours. Economy and PE have the same meals, so you'll be able to have a pretty good idea of what you'll end up with.

By the time you fly the new Premium meal service will certainly be flying. A trayed service but with Ceramic plates (Pictures are on this site somewhere or on the usual Virgin Atlantic website under 'Whats Onboard'.)
I don't know the exact details, but it's likely to be a salad to start... then three choices of main course (usually beef, chicken and veggie... though sometimes a fish one) and dessert.
You'll get welcome Champagne before take off (Or orange juice or water), then a couple of drinks from the bar then lunch.
After food Baileys or Brandy is offered and then free bar for the rest of the flight.
During the flight a Fruit bowl will be provided for Premium and then the second service is a small snack like sandwiches and a cake.

AFAIK, the menu choices in PE and Y are rotated every 6 months. Your best bet would be to check the trip reports a month or so before your flight (espoeciaslly NYC specific flights) and you'll get to see exactly what is on offer, and what is recommended as good food choices! The Chicken with Pasta is a recurring favourite! :)

Thanks,
Sarah

If my last flight (with the new PE service) is anything to go by, the choices of meals in PE are now different to the meals in Y

Yes there is now a new menu in W.
W and Y dont have the same menu.

W Menu

Salad

Sausage and Mash
or
Chicken Tikka
or
Scillian Pasta

GU dessert

Water, Wine, Hot Bread

For the last Svc you get a choce of 5 items rather than the 2 you would get in Y.

The Menu in Y is

Beef Stew
Chicken Pasta
Rissoto

VITB...just a silly question..Seeing as by the looks of thing's I am going to hate the UC best of British menu in UC next month..what do you think the chances of getting the crew to steal a chicken Tikka are?

Thanks for the info VITB[y] - what kind of things are offered for the last service, still just a light snack or has it changed back to a sandwich type offering?

Neil:)

Still a light snack. Much nice and better quality item for W class.

I am sure the crew will get you a Chicken Tikka Jetwet1 if you ask nicely and batt your eyelids and for a fiver they will even get you Sausage and Mash too.
