Hi,
Does anybody know if Gatwick security Fast Track is likely to re-open in the near future? The only info I can get off the web is that it's shut indefinitely but that's been the case for some time now.

I asked recently, no plans to reopen until at least 3-6 months (need more machines and staff)

Some might think it might be right to ask for a discount on tickets/taxes as BAA can't provide the service !
In defence ... they might say that service is a perk not an automatic right !

I was at Gatwick on 6th December and spoke to a lovely VS check in lady who said that BAA have no plans in the near future to reopen it!

Is it purely a people & machines problem? In that case I guess its down to the airlines and how much they value it.

Just the people, what it is that to have FT open, the total IQ of all security staff manning security has to be greater than 5, and unfortunately they are somewhat short at the moment. Problem is that passengers attemtping to lend them some in the form of suggestions/common sense only aggravates the problem.
Thanks,
Richard
