My family made a round trip from LHR to LAX in August, (4 adult fares). Does anyone know off the top of their head whether the points we accumulated on that trip will be worth anything?
We are only Red members as yet, I was thinking about going back to LAX for one week at Half Term with my daughter.
When my husband gets home I could of course get him to check our balance online but I just wondered if someone knew in the meantime? Thank you in advance!

PS We are also frequent Virgins if that makes any difference although on this trip I would only want fly-drive and do my own thing with the accomodation

Were you travelling in Economy? Most likely they will be 100% mileage earning fares which will give you just over 11k miles each which you could use for (though if you were booked in N class you get 50%):

1-way upgrade each to Premium Economy, though you would need to book that sector in L, B or Y class. (Cost 10k each)
Use the points to buy MilesPlusMoney Fares in Economy or Premium Economy - cost 2k per adult for Economy return, or 7.5k per adult for PE return.

Thanks,
Richard

To add to what Richard has said, I see your thread it titled Tier Points (TP). These are different from miles, and they are used to move up through the layers of membership - red, silver, gold, etc. Although you had 4 adult fares, the TPs for each of those fares will attach to each adult's booking (rather than the person who made the booking bagging all the TPs for all the tickets). As such, given the number of VS flights you are planning, the TPs may not actually be worth all that much to you (unless you travel upper class, in which case you will earn a bundle!).

As Richard says though, the miles are definitely worth something.

Your return flight was worth from 2 to 10 tier points depending on the class you flew in.

2 in discounted economy (typically N class)
4 in normal economy
6 in Premium Economy
10 in Upper Class
See the farecodes link on the left of this page for more info.
