Hi

I am considering booking VS to Tokyo in May.

I have been looking at all classes Upper Class Lowest, Premium Lowest and Economy Fully flexible ( thinking I minght use miles to upgrade. Departing w/e/ 5th May returning early the following week.

UC lowest is showing no flights on 5 May, when both other classes re showing availbility (does this mean it is full already)?

Premium is showing £990 a v.good fare.

Econ fully flexible is £1138 making any upgrade useless.

I have never previously found Economy fully flexible higher than Premium - is this often the case?

ring the contact centre sales line and ask for the lowest upgradable economy fare, which may well be cheaper than the wbsite's 'fully felxible fare'

To answer your question, yes it is very common to find that the highest Economy Fare is actually more than certain PE fares such as a K or S.

Thanks,
Richard

You should avoid flying to or from Japan between 1st and about the 10th May due to the convergence of national holidays during "Golden Week". A lot of Japanese travel home, or go on holiday during that time. Prices are higher and if you are in Japan public transport will be a nightmare. A lot of office workers are off work so a lot of shops and attractions (e.g. Disney) are packed.

I travelled to Japan the week after "Golden Week" last year (Monday 8th May) and the plane was packed with Japanese going home. On the way back to the UK the plane was half empty.

I am pretty sure that you will get better prices in the second half of May.

Best wishes

Paul
