Did any one see the VS spokes person on Channel 4 News tonight?
VS yet to decide on charging extra tax on pre Feb 1st 07 booked flights.
BA have said they will not pass on extra cost.
Also as i understand , by travelling in PE or 1st, it is an extra £40 each.I do hope VS follow same route as BA....as i am HK bound...in PE!!

This was already discussed here as a guy from VS was on BBC Breakfast News. He was quite clear that they would be collecting it. The question was how they would do it

On BBC News Web site tonight, it says that if you have booked a package hol, you probably will not have to pay the extra.

I saw a news segment where somebod from Virgin Atlantic said they could not absorb the tax, so will be passing it on to the customer. It made no mention of how, I know EasyJet and I think RyanAir ar sending emails asking people to pay before arriving at the airport.

As this now has two very similar threads running in parallel, I'm going to lock this one. As Honey Lamb mentions, the other thread has been up and running for a while - please use this link to get there.

Thanks.
