Why was VS063 delayed - 14/1/06?

Anyone know why VS063 LGW-HAV was delayed 9 hours today? What do Virgin offer for this delay?

Fuel dumping system wasn't working so replacement aircraft and new crew eventually had to be found. I was on the other end waiting to get on VS 64, which ended up leaving at 4am Monday instead of 5pm Sunday.

Were you given anything or left at your hotel?

As staff, all I got was an extra day in Havana and a day out of the office! The pax were bussed to beach resorts for the day, VHols pax back to their resorts, and the crew got another day on the roof terrace of the crew hotel! I assume vouchers and miles were also issued.
Ground staff and crew were very impressive in dealing with the few complaining pax, they got 370 people checked-in in less than 2 1/2 hours and dealt well with an under catered aircraft.
