In anticipation of the announcement that DCL will be sailing from LA next summer, i'm in planning mode!

This what we have in our Fc accounts:
DH ~ 275,000
Me ~ 154,000 and 1 companion voucher.

There are 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids age 7 & 11). I can't decide what to do. We usually fly PE MAN-MCO so LHR-LAX is a new route for us. Looking at the 'which aircraft' it's likely we'd get an A346 with few PE seats on? I'm not sure we'd appreciate the UC experience once on board with the kids, but we'd like to be able to use the CH.

The reason i'm asking so early is that we've another MCO trip to book soon for early Feb '08. The sale prices without miles are usually good so i'm not sure whether to just pay the cash price and save all my miles/companion for the LAX flight. Help pls?!!

I'd try and use the miles for LAX. Summer isnt a good time to be buying flights, and PE fares to LAX are going to set you back over 1k each. See if you can get any reward seats for the dates you plan to go, either full reward or using your companion voucher - or both.

Could you fly Upper and stick the kids in W? :) If Clubhouse entry is the only reason for going in Upper its a lot of money/miles to spend for just one perk. You could call VH and see if they will sell them to you through that avenue?

MCO in early Feb? You are bound to catch the end of a sale fare at that time so i wouldnt worry about that till the end of this year in all honesty.

Thanks,
Sarah

ISTBC but even if you were able to purchase CH passes from VH, doesn't the purchased entry scheme prohibit access for the under 12s?

Thanks!

Does anyone know the number of UC/PE rewards on these flights?

TIA! :)

Yeah, just booked to CPT and was told that VS have 2 UC reward seats per flight - which is one of the issues with the reward scheme!![:(!]

Wow that's not many is it. Are they available as soon as the dates are released or do you have to keep trying?

The number of UC reward seats seems to vary with the month of departure. I can book 4 UC rewards to LAX in most months EXCEPT July and August (2007)

I did manage to book 4 UC rewards to MCO last August though:D.

Can someone please clarify the following for me? Is a Reward seat *any* booking where there is a non revenue component e.g. PE to UCS upgrade or only those where the full booking is miles / companion voucher based ?

Thx

Upgrades come out of the same allocation as full reward seats.

Availability varies by route. That's why 7 of us are going to NRT on Gs next Easter :)
