HELP - VS16 Fl Delay

PostPosted: 18 Jan 2007, 10:45

Hey,

Hoping to get some expert advice.

My parents are flying home on VS16 from MCO to GTW today, scheduled to leave late this afternoon/early evening (Eastern US Time).

I just checked this website called Flight Stats (googled it) and it said it was delayed by 665 minutes and it wasnt leaving til the next morning at 7am - so in effect a rare 'day flight' coming back East.

2 Questions - Can I find out why the delay (presume faulty plane)??

Also - Any other website that give more info or confirm what Flight Stats say??? I am sure its accurate but i want to confirm as I have never used this website before.

Thanks guys and gals - have a good day [oo]

Hi Nick

This thread by David also covers the same subject as he seems to be the flight so might help you and answer some of your questions.

Neil,

It doesnt really answer questions as I am not sure this guy is talkin about same flight. He wrote that post last night at 9.30 E.T. so I am presuming he is talking about the flight that left last night (ie - 17'th) from MCO where as I am talkin about the flight that leave tonight (18'th)............

I am a little confused to be honest with you................

Not sure - VS 15 inbound had a medical emergency onboard (info from the dibb) and were preparing for a 4 hour diversion to Goose Bay but apparently according to the last post in the thread 2 doctors and 2 nurses stepped up to assist and the flight was able to continue.

I'm very confused - one passenger has posted on the Dibb

We were warned to expect a possible diversion to Iceland due to a medical emergency in Upper Class. In the end we had two doctors on board and two nurses and we never stopped. Never found out why though.

are we really talking about the same flight as one claims to have been diverted and one claims to have carried on as normal ?

Alec,

It landed in Goose Bay and i just confimed that.

I would have thought the VS15 leaving this morning would be the plane they would use for tonights VS16 but I have a theory - this plane will be used for those passengers who were supposed to leave last night (as they have priority)............thereby delaying the next days flight, ie - the one leaving 'today' is now waiting for Goose Bay plane.....

I am probably wrong but thats what i think at the mo...........

Just called Virgin and they cleared it up.

There will be a plane there tonight for the VS16 coming home - the problem lies with the crew and laws, etc......hence leaving at 7am the next morning (11 hour delay).

I am guessing a flight crew by law has to have a certain 'break' between flights - no doubt most people on this site already know this!

Hi Alek

must be a little confusion setting in with some of the passengers as there was only the vs015 which left on 17th

(I believe the 27 had been cancelled some time ago, as the couple next to me at check-in were originally booked on the flight for the 17th, and then moved to the vs016, which was then cancelled)
