Y,B,L seats?

I wonder if anyone can help? I have upgrade vouchers from Virgin credit card for econ to prem econ. I will need Y/B/L seats to use them. How do I find the price of these seat types on Virgin.com? Flying from LHR-LAX 24 Aug return Las Vegas-LHR 15 Sept?

It's far easier to just call VS and ask them to look you up the lowest fare on your list ie an 'L' fare. VS can search for specific fares where as on the web site, it's still a bit hit and miss.

Not sure but they might also be able to process your upgrade voucher at the same time as well?

Thanks. Just called them and according to them no availability of any of these seats even with flexible dates (!). Have checked SeatCounter wich indicates seats available?

I think the voucher you refer to can only be used when you have booked an economy reward seat i.e. using mileage. Once booked I assume the voucher entitles you to an upgrade to PE, subject to availability in PE.

Odd as EF is showing availability in Y B and L for the flights on the dates you want:

24/08/07 VS007 J7 D7 Z7 W7 S7 K7 Y7 B7 L7 M7 Q7 X7 N0

You can see the Y fares on the VS web site but not the B or L's. You can also select X or N discounted fares too (but they are no use for the upgrade)

Hi Sandra,

As you wish to upgrade from Economy to PE you will need to find dates that have availability in U class also.

U is the fare code for PE reward bookings. Once you have selected dates with availability in U you need to check that either a Y,B or L fare is also available on those dates.

If the availability is good in either Y, B or L you book and pay for that fare and VS will upgrade your ticket out of that Economy bucket into the U PE reward bucket.

I would search for U's first as they will be harder to find than Y,B or L fares...

The only date showing any PE reward availability in Aug to LAX is on the 31st (and there only looks to be 1 on that date). Thre's not much more in September either.

As James says the whole of Aug is out - 12/09 is the 1st date that 2 seats are available from LHR-LAX which is a real pain.

2 seats are available back from LAS-LGW though on the 15/09. This is probably due to the higher number of PE seating on the LGW config aircraft...

Sounds like the best option here is to go for the N/X £494 econ fare..... Might get lucky and upgrade at the airport (NOT).

Is the voucher is for the MBNA AmEx card?

If so, this is an upgrade from a reward Economy seat to a reward PE seat, so a booking in T class, and using the voucher to upgrade the T to U class. It wouldn't matter if there were Y B or L showing, you need a T fare - which will cost you 40k miles.
