Flying up to EDI on Sunday several BA crew got on in full uniform on staff travel and walked down the aisle puling their carry on whilst holding their mega hand bags. Are crew given a special dispensation to allow them not to have the same rules as pax when flying in uniform?

I Commute from Scotland in my VS uniform and they dont let us have anymore than one piece each - I was sent back when the stupid wooden box was in operation and my crew bag was about half an inch too big!... girls have to put their work handbags inside the crew bag to get thru, so no is the short answer to that question!

Well you've seen the size of he BA handbags - no way they'd fit into the carry on.

I have done this on my last couple of flights (no handbag of course), everything stuffed into one bag including the laptop, once at the xray part I had to take the laptop out (what is the point in making you put it in the bag only to take it out when you reach xray) once through security a quick unpack a low and behold I now have two carry on's, not a word was said by gate agents or crew.

I think that most frequent travellers will have worked out how to outfox the system, or rather show it and BAA up as the cr@p they really are[:(!]

It just amazes me that you have to stuff the laptop in the bag, then take it out again...amazingly tight security [y][oo][^] [:w]

You'd be surprised what cubby holes there are one board - they're are plenty of places to store heavy bags for crew that don't go in the overhead lockers.

No problem with that, Lipstick - but these members of crew were travelling as passengers...

made doubly annoying by the fact that they then displayed the wrong belt at EDI - and this wasn't apparent for half an hour as SOME luggage came out on the wrong belt... in the old "Fly like BA Staff/Fly With Laptop AND Carry On" I wouldn't have needed to check anything - it was a one night stay...
