Just received this months FC statement and there's a message on it saying that the ability to print your own boarding cards is on it's way soon [y]

Great [y]. I assume if you have nothing to check you will be able to skip check in all together.

Indeed

From my FC statement:

Not only can you check in online from your home or office, but soon you'll be able to print your own boarding pass too. Then you can head straight to the bag drop to drop off your luggage when you get to the airport. And if you only have hand luggage it's straight to the departure gate (via security) for you. Just ensure to leave plenty of time for the security checks

VS cannot have a high percentage of passengers that don't check baggage so I cannot see this reducing check-in queues by vast numbers.

Providing my boarding cards go beep at the gate I don't really mind how they come....;)

No. There is something neat about having a paper boarding card. Old school I know but feels real versus the computer print.

Flying domestic UK a lot, I've got used to having no 'real' BP.. swiping a CC at the airport with BMI, or printing off an A4 colourful sheet at home the night before with BA... As above, no advatnage unless you're travelling with carry-on only, and then it's excellent...

Couple of months ago, I arrived at EDI at 0610 for my 0630 to LHR! Up the escalator, straight through security in about 5 minutes, and at the gate just as boarding announced. Took my exit-row seat, and pushed back at 0630 on the dot. Utterly utterly splendid! [8D]

I'm with you Ben[y] I'd much prefer a check-in printed BP, especially seeing as I like to collect them[:I]
