I have just heard from VA that my flight to MIA on the 18th April has had its departure time changed from 11.30 am to 9.20 am. This is a right royal pain. I had sepecifically chosen this flight because of the civilised departure time. It meant that we could leave home at about 7.45, dump the dogs at the kennels on the way and should arrive at LHR at about 9.30, allowing for the the vagaries of the M25, which would give us plenty of time to check in and clear the new security measures as I would have used OLCI the night before. Now it's all changed. We would have to leave home at 5.45 am which means getting up at 5.00 am. We would not be able to drop the dogs on the way so would immediately incur an extra £22 kennel fee as we would have to drop them the night before and I really don't do 5.00 am starts these days. This means that we would have to stay at LHR for the night and therefore incur an extra, my guess, £100 minimum cost plus the kennel fees. Does anyone have any experience of getting any compensation out of VA for changes like this?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I'm not sure, but it would be worth checking out their T&C's of booking and then giving them a call to see what they say. If I was in that situation, I wouldn't really expect to see anything coming from it - maybe some Flying Club miles at best.

Let us know how you get on.
