Hi everyone,

Hope everyone's keeping well on here. Haven't posted for a while. I have flights booked with VS to Australia later in the year with a T/A. It also includes bookings with QANTAS. The VS website won't let me update the booking. [:(!] Is there a system that I can view VS bookings on that haven't had tickets issued yet?

Kind Regards,

tom139

Hi Tom,

Do you have your reservation number? If so, you can use http://www.checkmytrip.com to check all the details of your itinerary.

Thanks,
Sarah

I do, HighFlyer, but it doesn't appear to recognise it..yet when I rang VS they were able to bring up all the info. Does this mean it wasn't made with Amadeus?

Thanks,

Weird. Do you have a 6 digit code (alphanumeric)? This is your PNR number and is the same code that your TA and VS will be using to reference your booking.

Who cant see it? VS or checkmytrip? or both?

Thanks,
Sarah

You probably won't be able to see the booking using any of the web portals (Amadeus, Galileo, Worldspan etc) as it was mostly likely booked on VEGA which is VS's inhouse GDS.

No harm in trying though:

Amadeus: Checkmytrip.com
Worldspan: Mytripandmore.com
Galileo: Viewtrip.com
Sabre: Can't remember right now....

Thanks,
Richard

Thanks but, nope none of them worked. Is it to do with because it has QANTAS too? Is there more than one reference? At the moment I have one which is just 6 letters long and no numbers.

Thanks,

Tom

Yeah your reference (locator) should be 6 digits long - alphanumeric (doesn't necessarily have to contain numbers. Each reservation with an airline will have a corresponding locator/confirmation ID, that will sit within the shell locator for the overall booking.

So for instance, my upcoming trip with 4 sectors:

Overall shell booking locator - viewable in Galileo (ViewTrip) as booked via monkeys at AmEx
- within that shell, locator code for my round trip on VS. If I enter that locator on its' own it won't work as it is the VEGA locator code.
- also within that shell are two other locator codes for my two separate internal connecting flights.

So you need to find out the shell confirmation number.

Thanks,
Richard

Would I be able to find out the "shell" reference from VS or would I need to contact my TA?

Thanks,

I have the same probs. LHR to HK with VS, then on to Mauritius with Air Mauritius, then to LHR again with Air Mauritius.
When i wanted to update booking it would not allow, despite entering correct relevant info.
When speaking to customer services i was told that because it was not a round trip with VS i would not be allowed to update my booking... most strange. Still did manage to choose seat over the phone as they had access to my booking.

Hope this helps

Would that be why I can't update my booking either? I am only flying one way to Barbados...cruising back....and the seat was booked through P&O?

I have the locator and have selected my seat over the phone but it would be nice to check they've got it right!

If you are booked on one of the P&O charter flights to meet cruises, they are just that... charter flights, and as such will not be accessible via 'manage my booking' nor will you earn VS miles or TP. If they booked you onto the scheduled BGI flights, then you shold be able to find and update the booking. You can call and see if the agents can find your reservation, they get the 'locator' and try to find it online that way.

Thanks

No it's a regular flight - VS29 - and the site won't recognise my locator, although the people on the telephone can bring up the booking using it. I'm just assuming the ticket hasn't been issued for some reason...even though I've paid!

hmmm. maybe they have spelled your name differently on the booking.... ask how your name appears on the booking, and then use that to bring it up online. P&O might have just used your initials.
