REWARD FLIGHTS TO LOS

Hi everyone

I am not sure that anyone can help me but........... I am planning to fly to Lagos (from London) to visit my brother who is working out there. A return UC reward ticket costs 80,000 miles which I have got. However, when I try and book the flight for some reason it shows only 2 days available on the outward leg between February and July. Both these dates are a week apart in May which is inconvenient for me.

However there are quite a few PE seats available going out and the inbound leg does have availability for both UC and PE reward seats.

Does anyone know if this lack of UC reward seats is typical on a LHR-LOS flight? Is this due to passenger demand or is it VA's policy to have a very minimum number of UC reward seats on this route?? I can't believe that all UC reward seats are booked from now until July.

If any VA employees are on here could they let me know what the situation is regarding this route and reward seats.

Thanks,

Hmmm, can't really see Lagos as a holiday location but do see it as an upgrade location.

I bet most of the G class (the booking class Upper Class awards come out of) are upgrades. Maybe call VS and ask to see if you buy an upgradeable fare if they will offer you an upgrade with miles. Worth a go.

Also if you are a Gold or have a bunch or travel booked with VS; mention that and see what they will do. Do not forget that VS tends to open Upper Class award seats a few dates prior to the flight. You could book a PE or Y flight now and then change it to Upper Class later on when Upper Class award seats open for a mere 25 quid.
