36000 miles rtn to new york. 40000 to Barbados. Has this been announced anywhere? What's going on? Certainly don't spend cash until some clarification...

Cardsharp's post elsewhere suggests that mileage redemptions for economy flights have been reduced.

VS website is back up and the spend table doesn't seem to have changed in any way.

I have done a few random searches in September and found:

New York/Boston/Washington for 36k miles (normally 45k)
Chicago/Orlando/LA/SanFran/Las Vegas/Barbados for 40k (normally 50k)

Looks like it's limited to N America and Carribean and can't find anything officially announcing it.

P.S. Interestingly only the adult rates have been reduced - the child rates remain the same - if this is official then this bit has to be a bug right?

Seems to extend way beyond just Oct / Nov. I have checked dated throughout the year and seems to be applicable across the board - at least for adults.

P.S. Only seems to apply for return fares to a single location - one ways and open jaws are still previous miles.

Not just Economy either - UC trips are coming up with 90,000 miles for the round trip rather than the 100,000 they'd usually be.

UC for New York / Boston / Washington is always 90k - the rest is normally 100k and still seems to be the same.

Could you specify exactly what you have searched on to find this.

Thanks

Gah! My mistake - I'm so used to looking at West Coast trips that I automatically assume a 100,000 mile spend for the US in UC.

Ignore me - I'll get my coat.

Worth pointing out the 'Miles Further' offer is now extended to 30th April 2007.

Phil FM

P.S. Los Angeles, Antigua, Cuba, St Lucia and Tokyo have been excluded from the extension but Chicago has been added.
