They are indeed. Not sure if the actual seat is any wider or not but the distance between the 2 'walls' of each UCS on the A346's and upstairs on the B744's is narrower than the UCS seats on the main deck of the B744's.

The other difference is the size of the retractable arm rest, much smaller and too far back on the A346's and B744 upper deck.

The UCS on the upper decks are supposed to be longer when in bed mode but I've never noticed much difference.

I also noticed that the ottoman on the 346 is a different shape and smaller than the 747 downstairs. I haven't been upstairs on a 747, so not sure how it compares there.

I've never noticed any difference, although that's probably a reflection on me rather than the seat[:I]

However, I think they are angled differently on a 744 compared to the 340s which means that the shoulder width varies.

Certainly the UCS shoulder width on the A346 is noticeably less than the main deck on the 744, not sufficient to be uncomfortable or restricting but you will notice a difference.

Upstairs on a 747 are longer, I find I can lie down without my feet touching the end of the bed - that's why I always choose seats here. But out of my 10 or so UCS flights, only one has been in a 747 [:#]

Longer upstairs, although as I lack height it doesn't make much odds to me, my feet don't touch the end of the bed on the downstairs suites.

VITB, I find the difference is very noticeable when comparing the A346 and B744 (md). I appreciate I am a large frame at 6 foot 4 inches and twenty stone (280 lbs for you colonials) but comparatively, it felt restrictive, not claustrophobic but a little less comfortable.

What are the width differences from an A346 to a B747?

Thanks Dominic

Oddly on the VS19 yesterday I was in 19A and I'm sure the UCS table seemed smaller, could be the laptops are betting bigger of course.

I find the drinks shelf digs into my shoulder on the 346 but never noticed it doing so on a 744.

Not being an everyday UC flyer I'm generally enjoying myself too much to let it bother me!!

Regards

Yeah, I flew on a 346 in one of the inner aisle UC suites on Friday and the space definitely felt appreciably narrower than the suites I'm used to (I've never flown upstairs on the 747s).
