Got to say a mega thanks to Virgin and to let you guys know what a great company are .
As regulars know i make my first UC flight in november . It is my disabled daughters first ever flight. she is physically and mentally disabled and goes to a special school .We are gonig for a month to disney world in florida and at her school they like to do a thing exploring each childs special events. with this in mind i wrote to customer services to ask if they had any virgin related posters or similar that the school could use to make one of their displays in the class room.
today a parcel arrived from virgin with a "goodie poster pack".
this contains a large poster of a virgin plane, lady penelopy and 2 post cards picturing 2 other virgin planes , sorry i cant read the names, and a small "Virgin" sticker.
thank you so much virgin , i have sent a letter to the company, it is so important to aclimatise little girls like heather to events that are coming up, and as there were 2 of the packs we are putting one set on her bedroom wall and will take time every day to explane that we will be going on this plane ,for out big holiday, soon and with the other one at school hopfully she will be able to recognise the virgin colours or logo and it will not be worrying for her when we fly.
who knows none of it may sink in for her,but then thanks to Virgin we now have a chance to make it.

sorry it is a long , possibly boring to most , post, but these samll things mean such a lot to us parents of children with special needs.

also as a nice extra surprise for us also in the box was an extra goodie bag that contained a realy good quality Virgin atlantic baseball cap and "dreams" virgin t shirt.
when she gets home from school i am sure she will be one very happy little girl.

:):)

Fantastic to know that VS is so good on the special customer relations side as well. I hope you all have a good holiday, and that your daughter has the time of her life.

Thats great to hear!

I hope your daughter has a lovely time in Florida, although im sure she will :) The only problem is that you will want to go back!!

As a seperate note, i contacted Virgin a while back as i wrote a piece for my degree about Virgin and EasyGroup and i wanted to get hold of some company information, like financial details. They were great, they send me lots of information, facts and pictures that were really useful. They even showed me how Virgin 'hides' their finances in off shore accounts to get awway from the taxman (a RB idea!) so its hard for the UK to even figureout how much the Virgin group is worth.

I was touched that they made such an effort to help me. Incidentally, i sent EasyGroup the same email and didnt get anything from them.

It means a lot when you get really good customer service, its priceless!

:)

Glad to hear Virgin can come through in situations like this. I can understand flying might be traumatic for your daughter so I really hope this helps you.

Great news Steve, Virgin comes up trumps again! I do hope you all and especially your daughter have a really fabulous vacation. I sure she will be enchanted with the place and will definitely want to go back again.

BTW Disney also do great stuff for special needs kids, they have a "special needs pass" but they don't give these out as freely as they used to, worth contacting them, but I'm sure you probably have already done so.

edited to correct my (bad) grammar.
