Went to pick up friends earlier today, VS602 was diverted to LGW. Anyone know why?

Earlier today according to the BAA site it was not due in until 10:37am which is a huge delay

I don't know why but they usually do that when something is wrong at LHR, like a runway closure and the aircraft doesn't have any fuel to circle

there is talk on another site that LHR is still suffering fuel rationing. Could this be the reason?

Apparently, there was too much luggage on the aircraft so the aircraft had to have more fuel. Then a passenger became aggressive and abusive to the crew, therefore being offloaded and met by police in JNB. If they landed in LHR there would a further hour delay for landing due to time slots, and then the crew would be out of hours, so had to be diverted to LGW so they could have a prompt landing. Hope this helps!

Aircraft returned to JNB to offload so bags that shouldn't have been loaded and a disruptive passenger. Upon arrival to LHR the expected hold was too long for crew to remain in hours and diverted to LGW. Passengers were coached to LHR from there.

Hope the disruptive passenger will get a bill for the disruption he / she caused.
