Lot of talk on other forums that the VS027 is suffering from delays for the past week, including being 4 hours late yesterday
Is there any reason?

Same as usual I would bet Alan. LGW Metal and MCO Route. Bottom of pile! You know we only pay abour £1500 for our UC fares where as LAS (another LGW metal route) is twice this and more. [:(!][V]

I'm flying next week - hopefully Virgin will get their act together by then. Wouldn't have expected this with Virgin, even if it is 'only' a B&S route [V]

A very cynical view you have there Paul!! You are however, right in a sense, with limited LGW/MAN metal available then there is always going to be more chance of delays on flights ex these airports, its an unfortunate fact. If you do look back through the VS27 history for April however it has left (actually taken off) usually within 30/45mins or so of its departure time and has also left earlier than said time on 3 occasions! So not all bad.

We were delayed on the VS27 -14/3, food was cr*p as well (wrong load), and the delay on the return the 4/4-VS16, only two films working, was even longer, no info given.

Although I can understand the reasoning I think that it is unfortunate and shortsighted of VS. The MCO route probably has one of the highest percentages of first-time VS fliers - many of them young and potential future passengers. VS should be trying to impress.
Having said that the MCO punctionality was discussed a short while ago and the analysis indicated that average delays were less than an hour.

I travelled back to MAN from MCO on 16/4 using VS76. The flight was boarded on time and I felt glad that we did not have to endure the five hour delay that the LGW passengers were facing.
However, we were delayed by two and a half hours after one of the passengers took a turn for the worse and had to be removed, together with his family, from the aircraft. The ensuing searching for bags and refuelling caused an even lengthier delay. I spoke to the FSM who was annoyed that the ground crew had let the guy on. He went on to point out that the family had their bags stolen from Wet'n'Wild the day before and their hotel room trashed. All in all not a good trip!

Have you not notice how cynical I have become about VS MCO Route?:D:D. But on a serious note, and for fear of repeating myself, VS lost 4 return flights from me in 2007 to BA and others due to poor experiences on recent flights. I fly UC generally so I guess that equates to around £12k of lost revunue from me and my wife!
Maybe not a lot to VS, but a considerable about for me! I want more for the £12k.

VS 15 late today by 4 and a half hours, incoming VS16 only arrived at 11:28 instead of 08:45
Lot of problems on the MCO routes it seems

Hi Neil,
Where are you picking that info up from?

VS16 not due back to LGW until 12:30 today. Lack of aircraft gives VS ops very little opportunity to dissolve these delays by swapping metal around.
Wonder how long it will be before another LHR 744 is moved across to the LGW/MAN pool? It must needed later in the year to get the MRU services up and running...

Hi Neil,
Where are you picking that info up from?
[url=www.lhr-lgw.co.uk], its not the quickest way though as you have to check through each day individually.

Well, when we go to MCO, we normally choose the VS027, its nicer to get in that bit earlier. Never had a problem so far... (prefer the VS16 back, it leaves later)
