Quick to deduct the Miles !

I checked in at LAX around 6pm, and in less than 90 mins, I see my Flying club miles balance has been reduced as a result of my requested Upgrade from PE to UC.

Pretty hot off the mark if you ask me.

Mark.

P.S Free Wifi in the Air NZ Lounge, now that is a welcome bonus.

If you book a reward in the UK, it is pretty much real time. I have seen it take a little longer from stations, as you describe, but normally that is pretty instantaneous too.

They would have phoned through to FC to see if you had enough miles, and then done the deduction there and then.

Thanks,
Richard

It works just as fast the other way now as well.
I was in Revivals on Tuesday morning, and updated my account with the points for the flight I had just stepped off. [y]:D

Still no miles from Thursdays flight and for once the missing miles function does not work, it does not think I was on the flight. Need to address that on Wed.

just give a call to Premier and they will add them on manually.

Just had to call Premier myself for miles missing from VS001 and VS002 last week. They told me that if you do a mileage upgrade (in my case from PE to UCS both ways), there's a glitch in the system and it loses your miles. You have to call them to have them added manually.

We should make sure this is clear to anyone doing a mileage upgrade in future. Better still, they could try to correct the glitch!

Thanks for that SteveE. This is a known issue and so I was surprised not to find it in the FAQs. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place?

Oh, don't hold your breath.

I've only been waiting, what, 4 years since first asking VS to try and sort out something which their competitors find relatively painless to get right.

It seems that because it's all put into the "G" bucket, the mileage accrual program cannot tell the difference between an upgraded G with some revenue behind it, and a 100% reward "G".

It's on my list of VS annoyances, but somewhat way down, compared to the current food/service issues, "priority" service availability, dirty aircraft interiors, and cabin defects.
